We headed off to BDC round 2 on the long trundle up to Teeside Autodrome full of hope and high expectations after having a successful time participating in the drift King's show at Silverstone for Japfest with just an annoying vibration at high speed!
After Syril was checked over we were still scratching our heads as to what the issue could be but the show must go on so off to Teeside we went.
The weather looked set to be good and as we love the track at Teeside hopes were high we could qualify well and get a good result.
Practice didn't start off great still with this niggling vibration on Syril we tried to drive through it and crack on but there was something missing between myself and Syril, something I could not put my finger on which was quite frustrating as when all is going well Syril & I on this track can be a force to be reckoned with especially with the new found level of grip with the Achilles tires we were keen to get a high qualifying position and get out in battles to prove this.
Qualifying came and not 100% confident due to the fact we haven't had one consistently great lap in practice we queued up for our first lap which due to my driver error we had a few corrections & straightens in the first lap so the pressure really was on for lap number 2.
I'm not sure about other drivers but my usual way to approach qualifying with only 2 laps & best one counts is to carry out a "safe run" on the first lap then push & go much harder on the second lap, however when your first lap hasn't quite gone to plan you have to reassess the situation there & then and decide whether you try to put in a safe lap and qualify or throw in a crazy lap and hope that it all comes together and you get a good result.

After having attended an event the weekend just gone we now know what the fault is with Syril-yay!
This issue was down to old VERY well worn standard bushes so the rear subframe was moving one way & the diff bushes were moving another way effectively making Syrilun-drivable and un-driftable.
However at least we now know what the fault is and with new bushes being supplied by the wonderful Superpro next weekend will be a full on weekend of working and fettling on Syril making sure he is fighting fit & in tip top shape as we are attending BDC round 3 at the NEC Birmingham aiming high with no holding back & now with the matching suit what better way to christen it than on a podium! We have the hunger & we ARE going for it!!!
