There is a whole host of unexpected benefits, but some of the most rewarding are meeting new people, helping out others around the paddock and building a community which extends beyond just racing. 2. Becoming a Racing Driver, were there any unexpected challenges?
One of the biggest challenges I have faced, and trust me when I say it was completely unexpected was building 2 of the team’s cars under a huge amount of pressure with only two and a half weeks, until they had to be on the start line. But it was great fun and we worked closely with our suppliers and guys back at the garage to get it done on time. 3. Looking back to when you started, how did you see this journey originally taking you?
When we started out with JAPS Motorsport we really started it all for a bit of fun, so we didn’t really have any huge expectations to get anywhere. 4. Think about another person in the same situation as you were in when you started. Given what you know now, what advice would you give them?
We really pride ourselves on always giving people advice when they first start with our race series. But they main bit of advice I would give a new starter, is car set up is key. Spend time fine tuning and you will really reap the rewards. 5. If you were going to start this over again, what three things would you do differently?
I would start with the car I have now. Always use good tires avoiding budget ones. Spend a bit more time on developing the car. 6. Why did you choose to work with Racinglines?
Racinglines are a great company to work with, they are very easy to communicate with and always are on hand to offer great advice and their products are of the highest quality. Well Mark, thanks for the kind words, and spending some time with us to give our fans an insight into a Team Racinglines Driver.
Keep an eye out for Mark and Team JAPSMotorsport at the next round of Fueltopia Barrel Sprint on 1st October at Santa Pod Raceway.
