Opel Astra TCR Car Launching on Racinglines Stand at Autosport

With Autosport International just around the corner, starting on Thursday this week. We thought we should bring you some exciting news about one of the vehicles being on our stand. Between the 11th and the 14th of January be sure to come and find us at Stand 19020 in Hall 19 to see the latest addition to the TCR Grid.

In conjunction with our European Partner JAPO Motorsport, we will be launching the Opel Astra TCR Car on our stand. Be one of the first people to see this new addition as this is its first UK appearance since the Private Test Day at Brands Hatch late 2017.

The TCR Series has been launched in the UK and will run from March to October and comprises Silverstone, Knockhill, Brands Hatch, Castle Combe, Oulton Park, Croft and Donington Park.

The current TCR series have a qualifying and two sprint races, with competitors not split at any point.

With up to 27 teams interested in the series, while drivers such as BTCC leader Ash Sutton has confirmed his interest.

Sean Walkinshaw Racing is the latest team to back the series, aiming for a two-car entry with Honda Civics in what will be its first foray into tin-tops.

None of the dates clash with the BTCC's 60th anniversary calendar for 2018.

Opel has put together a strong package for its customer teams, providing the best conditions to succeed in the competitive environment of the TCR. The all new Opel Astra TCR, which offers high-class technology and a comprehensive safety equipment. Among other things, the service package which includes technical support and competitive replacement parts prices.

With the new Astra TCR Opel sets the sights high in the national and international TCR championships. The touring car version of the new Astra K was developed together with the long-time Opel engineering partner Kissling Motorsport, who can look back on more than 30 years of racing experience in touring car racing, ranging from the DTM cadet to the current Astra OPC Cup. The Astra TCR comes in the basic package with technical features such as a hydraulic paddle-shift system, a data logging system and an FT3 safety tank, offering first-class performance and comprehensive safety features.

The 350-hp Astra TCR offers top-class technology and strong performance and thus brings all the prerequisites to make a splash in this competitive environment and to celebrate successes.
