Racing has given a lifestyle and a hobby for my whole family. The whole family lives and breathes the races, building the car, preparing, packing and travelling around the world to the different rounds. It is so much more than just paddling a car around in circles.2. Becoming a Racing Driver, were there any unexpected challenges?
At times, I have struggled with the balance between work and racing. It has been hard to fit racing around work.3. Looking back to when you started, how did you see this journey originally taking you?
When I first started in Time Attack, it was in the Clubman Class using my daily driver. I honestly had no idea that it would one day lead me to chase for a World Challenge Win. And it has only been six years since it all started.4. Think about another person in the same situation as you were in when you started. Given what you know now, what advice would you give them?
Time Attack is a good way to start in motorsport. It is really easy to start and is relatively affordable in Clubman Class. If like me, you find the passion to go all the way to the top flight, honestly take those steps, it’s worth it.5. If you were going to start this over again, what three things would you do differently?
No, not at all. I think my path has been spot on for me. I am very happy with the people I have ended up working with doing this.6. Why did you choose to work with Racinglines?
My Race Engineer Jyrki saw the Racinglines products at the Autosport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham. Racinglines had the perfect solution for our fuel delivery issue we were working through at the time. The Racinglines Swirl Pot did just what it promised, it fitted our car and fuel system and has worked perfectly ever since.Well Sami, I am glad our products have worked well in this prestigious build, and thank you for spending some time with us to give our fans an insight into a Team Racinglines Driver.
Keep an eye out for Sami and the Audi R8 1:1 Team in the World Time Attack Challenge.
